Why are prisons the most spiritually fertile harvest field on this planet? Part 9 of 10

People have asked me, why do I say that prisons are the most fruitful spiritual harvest field on this planet? I would like to share 10 reasons with you over the next few weeks and thank you for investing prayer, money and time to help us bring Glory to God as inmates and their families come to faith in Christ.

For review here are the previous eight:
1. Most inmates are very discouraged. They need to hear the Good News and Hope that only comes from God’s Word.

2. In prison, they have plenty of time to study God’s Word.

3. Many are looking for purpose and meaning to life (Living for Christ gives an eternal purpose)

4, In prison, there are fewer worldly distractions (No cell phones, no internet, etc)

5. All inmates need to be loved (The Word of God tells the truth of the ultimate source of love)

6. In prison, they have time to reflect on the bad choices they have made and many looking to change.

7.  All inmates suffer from loneliness (many have very few visitors, a visit from PMA, brings Hope, correspondence instructor letters are like Christmas)

8.  Many have reached a point of humbleness, brokenness and a contrite heart- rock bottom so to speak. They are ready to listen to God and His will for their life

This week we look at #9. Many have a hunger to study God’s Word.

They are able to reflect and focus on the more important things in life and that which is eternal.

“Hunger for God compels us to seek the Lord. At times our desire for God overcomes our physical desires, and the ache for God is palpable. Throughout the Scriptures, God is faithful to reward those who search for him.

Written during one of King David’s low points, while living on the run in the wilderness, he cries, “Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” Psalms 63:1

Though David hides in the wilderness, he doesn’t stay there physically or spiritually. When we seek God with our whole hearts and souls, he promises to reveal himself to us.

As I have opportunity to invite many prisoners to study the Bible out of 100 I talk to I usually have had 68 and up to 87 inmates sign up for PMA Bible studies at prison transitional fairs!

Our PMA lessons are a great way to reach those who are hungry for God and ready to learn from God’s Word.

Will you pray and donate so PMA can send more lessons to inmates across this country? We want to bring them hope from Gods Word and God will fill their hearts with his love, joy and peace to overflowing. We love to see inmates reach inmates for Christ!
Next week we will look at reason #10. Please continue to pray with us and our vision to see Godly leaders developed and churches planted in the prisons as we follow God’s leading. We need more prayer partners, financial support and volunteers to help us reach this goal of spreading the Good news of the Gospel of the Grace of God!
